TEMPS FORTS ET ÉVÉNEMENTS

Island rich culturally, there are many highlights in Martinique that are worth living during your stay in our dream Villas.

MARTINIQUE CARNIVAL

Martinique Carnival, one of a kind, takes place in February or March, depending on the year.

For several weeks before the 4 mytic days called "fat days", this exceptional festival, synonymous with joy, fun and collective release, brings together all generations of all social backgrounds in "vidé" These colorful parades where everyone gives free rein to their imagination to adorn themselves with the best disguise, under the sounds of the drums.

The slogan of the carnival: let go! Or as we say here «san manman, san papa» (Without mother or father, left to oneself).

"TOUR DES YOLES RONDES" OF MARTINIQUE

The Yole Ronde is a traditional Martinique boat. It is a wooden boat with a sail. To maneuver, the wind balance and the complementary work of a whole team are necessary.

This institution is an integral part of the Martinican heritage and it is proudly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the delight of admirers of this discipline.

The Yoles Tour is experienced both on land and on the water from stage to stage on motor boats, catamarans and water scooters. The nautical event takes place over a week during the months of July and/ or August.

In addition to these two highlights, there are events not to be missed on the island such as:

  • Baccha Fest', a two-day festival featuring local, national and international artists.
  • The Martinique International Cycling Tour, which each year welcomes more than 20 teams from Europe, the Caribbean and Switzerland to cross Martinique by road in 9 stages. The tour is known for its watch blocks and winding and steep roads. The suspense is usually at its peak throughout the race.
